It uplifts the dancer and the beholder to a higher level of spiritual consciousness. The dancer is considered as a worshiper of the Divine. An embodiment of beauty, charm and gracefulness. The general interpretation for the name is BHAva(expression)+ RAga (music)+ TAla(rhythm)+ NATYAM(dance)= Bharatanatyam.
The origin is believed to be the creation of panchamaveda, Fifth veda, Naatyaveda by Lord “BRAHMA”.It is an essence of the four vedas.The well-documented period of dance history is far morerecent. In the first half of the 19th century the dance tradition was revitalized and defined anew through the contributions of four talented brothers (known today as the Tanjore Quartet)Chinniah, Sivanandam, Ponniah and Vadivelu. Despite of all other changes,it has its roots in religious mythological heritage of India Shilp is good in sports. She like volleyball & Cricket and she is black belt in Karate Shilpa Shetty now currently lives in Mumbai ( BOMBAY ) ( Bollywood ) with her parents with the younger sister Shamita Shetty, Shamita Shetty is also a Bollywood actress.
